Panorama Screening
This year's Kuandu International Animation Festival featured screenings of KDIAF Panorama on October 25 and October 26, attracting a diverse audience over the two days. Let's Party Till the End
Portrays a tool village facing an imminent meteor impact. It humanizes tools to depict the busy lives tied to work and contrasts "enjoyment" and "hard work" symbolically in characters, prompting the audience to reflect on the impact of these two values on life.
Everywhere
It tells the story of two cats supporting each other but separated due to an accident. Raising the theme of dealing with separation via the advancement of the plot. The art style combines picture book aesthetics with 3D rendering, blending 2D animation techniques for a unique visual experience.
PICKLES
Depicts the life of a Russian girl who immigrated to Israel, narrated through letters between friends, exploring the challenges of living in a new place and addressing gender issues.
Ana Morphose
Depicts a character's experiences in a book world using stop-motion animation, creatively replacing various objects with book-related elements throughout the story. Making good use of media and creativity is one of the features of the film.
The Music of the Summer Night
Explores the fantastical journey of various people meeting and embarking on a road trip. The story intricately weaves seemingly unrelated elements, inviting viewers to contemplate life and death.
ROALD
Presents a frog's birthday party in a seemingly cute and lovely world but hints at hidden mysteries underneath. The film excels in character performances and environmental texture design.
Pressure
Symbolizes stress using water imagery, portraying a woman dealing with accumulated stress. The hand-drawn style, combined with paper cutouts representing overflowing water, creates a comic book-like narrative.
THE SQUARE CITY
Constructs a cityscape around traditional Mahjong, revealing how society often conforms to others' expectations. The film beautifully showcases a rich retro style in its setting.
When You Wish Up a Star
The first-person self-report of the Tooth Rat opens the philosophical question of existence or not. The author cites the story of Tooth Fairy as a work of Tooth Rat, and in the process, makes viewers think together about the definition of existence. The film uses black-and-white realism, and a philosophical conversation unfolds in the night's quirks and secrets.
Rebound
Describe the story of a basketball star who has lost multiple points and regained confidence on the court after a special training session with a basketball coach. Art style uses a lot of American comic material, such as dialogues, adverbials, etc., to make the whole story more vivid and interesting.
Mask the Flower
An animation of a doll made from woodcut dolls. The story of a former wrestler who committed a robbery and met a fan of his wrestling days; moved by the boy's enthusiasm, the wrestler decided to change his ways.
The Christmas Tree School
On Christmas Eve, a group of Christmas trees are training for Santa Claus' interviews, and as the main character of the cactus, he wants to take on the role of Christmas tree, hoping that he will also be an important part of the Christmas season. The work personifies the objects that will appear on Christmas Day, shapes the unique worldview of the internal process of Christmas, and discusses the characters' self-identity.
Midnight Ash
By using the image between a butterfly and a fly-trap lamp, this paper describes the malignant relationship between a woman and her mother. Through the lingering smoke, the thought of flapping the wings of the butterfly close to the full release of suffocation and tension.
Nyktomantis
It tells the story of a young boy, Oscar, who accidentally touched a statue when he came to his uncle's and aunt's house. Under the theme of "The Collection of Antiquities Is Caged in Places Not Their Own,” the work is full of fantasy colors, and the use of light shades, and colors creates a complete story atmosphere.
To the Moon and Back
The death of a tadpole raised as a child brings out the story surrounding the author, grandmother, and death. The story takes the view that "the tadpole of death has gone to the moon" and leads the viewer to interpret the meaning of death from a new angle.
Town Hall Square
The appearance of a tiger disturbs the conductor's life at the subway station and changes his view of life. The film is based on a real-life scene, which attracts the audience's attention, and reveals that the main character has entered the next stage of life with the subtle difference in color between the subway and the street.
Dede is dead The author is deeply saddened by the sudden death of his dog, Dede, but gradually understands that death seems to exist only on a physical level. Dede may be accompanying himself in another form.
The Silent Screen
The story takes place at a court session, with silence as its main theme, dividing the story into two parts: silence of witnesses on the one hand and silence of facts on the other hand, a boy who cannot speak for himself. Through the children's perspective of objects, a large amount of chaotic images, and dehumanizing noise, viewers can visualize the character's anger.
Getting Used to Loneliness
Draw a lonely person in a graphic illustration style ,learning to face the big hole in his heart. In the story, the senior invites the main character to play badminton, and gradually changes the main character's attitude toward interpersonal relationships. From time to time, the author transforms the style of the work into an even animation, suggesting that the main characters need to learn to work with others to achieve their goals by comparing the badminton court to a hunting ground.
Friendly Fire
The football match between an Israeli soldier and a Palestinian boy was portrayed, which eventually turned into an unjust war. The author uses the West Bank wall as a medium for painting and retains the middle frame to create a shadow effect to illustrate the movement of objects.
For The Record
Compare the athletes to the film production team, showing the cooperation in film production by depicting each individual's responsibilities. The author uses a modified body image and comic book narrative technique to add some interest to the Games, which belongs to the film production team.
The Nighthawk Is Not a Hawk
Provide a space for self-identification discussion on a night owl not recognized as an eagle. In the story, the nightingale is not recognized as an eagle by other eagles because of its unattractive characteristics; at the same time, the nightingale realizes that he is also the perpetrator of the food chain and is reluctant to harm other lives.
Synchrony
In a realistic 3D style, a man is depicted as having a car crash on his way to an interview and getting on a woman's ride to the interview. After experiencing a tornado, the man learns to slow down and enjoy the moment.
Serendipity
Describes a boy who, in the hope of being praised by his peers, takes away the lantern that belongs to others and has to face the contradiction between showing off and guilt. From time to time, children's fantasies are inserted into the works to add children's fun, and a strong sense of light is used to create the festive atmosphere of the Lantern Festival.

Describes a woman planting the seeds of love under the planet and growing into a giant tree, suggesting that love can be a powerful force that envelops the world. |
