Lecture:

In Taiwan, original animated feature films are produced on average every two to four years, which is significantly fewer compared to the almost weekly releases of imported animated films in Taiwanese theaters. This difference in production capacity and budget highlights the long road Taiwan's animation industry still has to travel before reaching maturity. Facing such challenging conditions, Taiwanese animators have learned how to navigate through difficulties, embracing chaotic creative processes and continually searching for a balance between creativity and commerce amid constant changes. In this industry ecosystem, they persist through trial and error, often having to choose between idealistic pursuits and practical necessities.

During the post-screening discussion, the director will be sharing the production process of the animated film "LUDA": including creative brainstorming, field research, scriptwriting, art design, storyboarding, animation performance, and music and sound design, as well as how various obstacles were overcome during the process. Additionally, the director will interact with the audience and host a quiz with prizes, offering limited-edition gifts of "LUDA" to the attendees.
