2017 KDIAF Call For Entries!
2017 KDIAF Call for Entries! From April 15th to July 15th, everyone is welcomed to submit their works and join us.
Nominated films will be screened during the festival between October 29th to November 6th, as we offer free entrance to all audiences. Various experts and respectable artists from both international and domestic will judge for our final three KuanDog Awards. The three titles include “ Best International Short Film”, “ Best International Student Short Film” and “ Best Taiwanese Short Film”. What’s more, our fellow judges would like to select a few “ Honorable Mentions” to certify and encourage those passionate artists of their efforts.
During the festival, we feature hundreds of short films from international competitions, festivals, and student works from all over the world. Moreover, KDIAF will hold two international school showcase to communicate with overseas fellows. Last but not least, KDIAF will also hold several International lectures, animation workshops, activities and related showcase tours.
The 2014 Best International Short Film, Bear Story, also won the 88th Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. The award-winning director, Gabriel Osorio paid a visit back to KDIAF last year. During his visit, he held lectures for the local folks as well as workshop for the students of the animation department of TNUA. Osorio would like to share his team’s journey to the winning the Academy Award at KDIAF, making a perfect end for KuanDog Prize was their first award for Bear Story.
2017 KDIAF is held by the Animation Department of Taipei National University of Arts (TNUA) . Founded in 2001, the Animation Department of TNUA has been hosting international animation festival, KDIAF, which this year marks the seventh festival. From just a little over three hundred submissions in 2011 to a spiking three thousand and four hundreds of submissions in 2016, we are proud to announce that our animation festival has evidently become more and more popular each year. We are looking forward to see more amazing films from Taiwan and all over the world in this year, keeping KDIAF the bridge of Taiwan and the world.
